The Climate Manifesto of the Union of Values

Only the Values Union knows that global warming is the fault of the sun, not us. It's bad that there are people in politics and business who take such blatant nonsense seriously, comments climatologist Stefan Rahmstorf.

Finally. Finally someone says it. In its "Climate Manifesto 2020", the Value Union exposes climate research for what it is: "garbage science"!

NASA, the Max Planck Institutes, the Potsdam Institute: all centers of waste science! More than 20,000 climate change studies appear in the peer-reviewed literature each year; the global number of climate researchers is likely to be similar.all garbage. And almost nobody notices. This garbage appears in the most renowned international journals such as "Nature", "Science" and "PNAS". At least 80 scientific academies around the world also belong to the "global network of activist and ideologically active researchers" and publish statements that our fossil energy system is causing dangerous global warming - even our National Academy of Sciences, Leopoldina. Even hundreds of Nobel Prize winners are behind the "climate propaganda" and are signing increasingly urgent appeals to finally do something about global warming, for example the Mainau Declaration. They support the "left dictatorship of opinion" and the "deindustrialization program for western states" in a disgraceful way, as it aptly calls the Union of Values.

Almost nobody realizes that this is all based on garbage science. Except for the value union. Can't praise her highly enough for this intellectual achievement!

Admittedly, many of the predictions of waste science, some of which were made half a century ago, have come true. Global temperatures and sea levels are rising, the ice sheets on Greenland and Antarctica are melting, heat records and extreme rain are increasing, the Mediterranean region is drying up, the Gulf Stream system is weakening, wildfires in Australia and California are getting worse, tropical cyclones are increasing in strength – but it's all coincidence.

While garbage science blames greenhouse gas emissions for modern-day global warming, the Union of Values knows: "The sun controls our climate, not the CO2."

And she also has proof of that: namely the TV movie "The Great Global Warming Swindle" from 2007, which was shown in Germany on RTL. Because in this film "the strong correlation of the climate development of the last 100 years with the intensity of sunspots is demonstrated" (see footnote).

The fact that the British media regulators criticized the film for misrepresentation at the time only shows how the establishment is trying to suppress the truth: Solar activity determines the climate! Why do we need expensive garbage science with research ships, satellites and supercomputers? The true connections can hardly be shown more clearly than with such a correlation. Well, even more clearly by showing the data not just up to 1980, but up to the present (see figure).

Now that might surprise you. Because doesn't that mean that, according to solar activity, it should have been getting colder since 1950? Is correct! Not only does the garbage science say that, but even the real researchers from the "climate skeptics" expect a cooling! Exactly: That's why they've been predicting an imminent cooling for a long time! In Germany, for example, Fritz Vahrenholt and Sebastian Lüning in their 2012 book "The Cold Sun".

Fritz Vahrenholt, the pioneer of climate research, was the only one to recognize that Greenland was almost ice-free in the Middle Ages. The fact that the predicted cooling still hasn't materialized doesn't mean anything. Vahrenholt and Lüning found the reason: NASA is manipulating the measurement data. But the cooling won't be hidden for long. She will definitely come soon! Definitely!

[… sarcasm end…]

The Value Union's Climate Manifesto is a compendium of scientific nonsense that you can find on the websites of the self-proclaimed "climate sceptics" - from EIKE to K alte Sonne to Tichy's Insight and the Axis of Good. It reads as if the Value Union played climate myths bingo. A total of 16 hits on the list of the most common shopkeepers of "climate sceptics".

This list is maintained by the genuine skeptics at skeptikalscience.com, endowed with a he althy dose of scientific skepticism. They offer an encyclopedic collection of climate skeptic myths and their technically sound refutation; Anyone who is annoyed by the grouchy great-uncle with climate skeptic theses at the family celebration will quickly find a remedy here. You also looked at the Value Union's Climate Manifesto and provided appropriate references to the refutation of the claims. The document can be found here.

One could laugh heartily at the embarrassing pamphlet of the Value Union. However, you lose that laugh when you consider how research is defamed here as "garbage science" and the hatred against researchers that is fueled every day on social media. A number of prominent climate researchers are receiving anonymous threats, including myself. They threaten me: If I publish another blog article, something will happen to my family.(Of course, we report such threats immediately.) How can it be that membership in the Values Union is compatible with membership in an allegedly Christian people's party?

It's even worse that there are still some in politics and business who take such blatant nonsense seriously - and use it as an excuse to slow down climate protection wherever they can. This will cost us all dearly in the end. Especially our children.

PS: The quotes in quotation marks are actually all taken from the Value Union's Climate Manifesto.

Footnote: By the way, on Australian television, film author Martin Durkin was asked why he only shows the dates up to 1980. He stuttered and then made the excuse that it was the "historic part of the show". Minute 1:45 in part 2 of the video can be found here.
